We are changing things up a bit with our Core titles.

Tribe Studio Comics, along with its respective sub-studios, has been publishing “Core” titles for some time now. These “Core” titles, exclusively owned by Tribe Studio Comics and the creators Scott, Joe, and Dustin, were created to achieve key objectives for Tribe.

For one they create the universe that is Tribe. Events that happen in these books generally affect the entire Tribe timeline, and create a cohesive timeline of events. We have full control of these books, and everything we do with them is fine tuned and detailed to keep this timeline. Joe has specific colors and keeps track of all the various suite designs. Dustin has to make sure when stories intertwine they meet at the correct timelines, locations, etc… Scott would, of course, make sure they all look like who you expect them to look like.

Second, these books are what we use to help support further adventures. Indie creators are free to assist in the production of the books to hone their skills, but more importantly they help drive revenue to allow us to help people create their own adventures. This was the foundation of Core tiles, to allow us to do what we love so other people can do it too.

Which is the last key point, Core titles are Tribe specific books. We help support indie creators and any books we help make won’t have the “core” marking on them because they are fully owned by the respective creators. It’s important to note that Tribe never takes creative freedom or rights from anyone we support! So while the “T” might appear on the cover, if it isn’t a Core title then we aren’t in the driver seat.

Now the big news!

Joe and I have decided to change the name of “Core” to “Legacy.” We did this for two major reasons.

We decided to call these books “Legacy” titles to honor Scott Shehi’s immense influence on Core titles and celebrate his legacy, as well as Tribe’s. He had a major influence on all the titles we currently make, and so it seems fitting.

The second reason is that Legacy aligns with the overall concept of Tribe. These titles are fundamental to our identity and represent years of storytelling. Legacy is a better fit for how we want to present these titles, as they tell the story of Tribe Studio Comics and are iconic to our brand.

Okay, and maybe a third reason, Joe made a really cool looking logo that sealed the deal, check it out.
